Welcome to the Fox Valley

          Newcomer Project Community Map!

The data used to create this map was gathered from January-May 2025.
This map shows the organizations and services in the Fox Valley
which support immigrants and refugees as they resettle in the area.

Each sector shows what is available and reflects the perspectives of
        Newcomers as well as organizations.
A "Newcomer" is a person or family who has moved to the Fox Valley or the United States in the past 5-10 years and is learning and adjusting to the main languages and cultures of our region.

Childcare is the second type of basic needs service being sought by Newcomers. Based on reporting organizations, this need is out of proportion with what is being offered. It will be important to connect individuals seeking childcare with Fox Valley Literacy and First 5 Fox Valley (Together For Families - Family Resource Center) as those services get expanded.
Laundry support was listed as an unmet need in the 2024 survey and it continues to be a support being sought by Newcomers.
