Welcome to the Fox Valley

          Newcomer Project Community Map!

The data used to create this map was gathered from January-May 2025.
This map shows the organizations and services in the Fox Valley
which support immigrants and refugees as they resettle in the area.

Each sector shows what is available and reflects the perspectives of
        Newcomers as well as organizations.
A "Newcomer" is a person or family who has moved to the Fox Valley or the United States in the past 5-10 years and is learning and adjusting to the main languages and cultures of our region.

Education Background

Work Placement
More often than not, our Newcomer professionals are not working in their area of expertise. There are individuals with advanced degrees and certifications in areas of work like healthcare and legal work who have not been able to find employment in their areas of expertise.
Education Services
Driver’s education, both for behind the wheel practice and the written test, remain the highest requested service for Newcomers in the education sector.
Technology training is another area in which the request for support outweighs the current offerings. Newcomers can find technology training regularly at our libraries, technical colleges, and adult literacy organizations.
